Yolanda "Yo Yo" James

Angel Yolanda "Yo Yo" James (57) of Dayton, Ohio peacefully passed away Friday August 2nd
2024 surrounded by friends and family. Yolanda was born December 27th, 1966, to Richard M. James Sr. and Claudia C. James at Wright Patterson Air Force military base in Fairborn Ohio.
Growing up, Yolanda had a knack for being a creative, drawing, and creating projects using drawing utensils. After graduating high school from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in (1985) She entered the work force with General Motors in Vandalia Ohio. She spent 25 years working as an assembly line worker. As the Vandalia factory closed in 2008, Yolanda had a new motivation to continue her education at The Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology with the goal of obtaining her associate degree in Allied Health in 2009. Before eventually becoming a caregiver to several members of her family, Yolanda took pride and joy in raising her three sons and the neighborhood friends that they brought over the years. She was the ultimate family nurturer. Yolanda was always present with words of encouragement, was quick to be a listening ear to allow others to find peace through their trials. She was a wonderful, powerful, and a courageous soul; she will be missed dearly.

 Yolanda is survived by her parents: Richard M. James Sr. & Claudia C. James. Sisters: Tracy Nelloms, Steffanie (Bernard) Veney, Carletta (Rolando) Harbut. Sons: Brian (Tisha) James, Stefine (Jacqueline) James, Sheldon (Brittany) James. 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by Richard M. James Jr.

Yolanda was a unicorn of a human. Her legacy lives through her family. Her strength, and the ability to overcome adversity was unmatched.
