William Edward Whalen

July 24, 1944 — February 8, 2020

Whalen, William Edward "Bill" passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 12:03am at Hospice of Dayton.

Husband of Shirley Whalen for 57 years. Loving father of Shelley Whalen of Washington Township; Kelley Bell, son-in-law Tom and grandson Tommy of Kettering; Shannon, son-in-law Joshua and granddaughter Jaidyn of Largo, Florida. Also survived by siblings Jack (Sally) Whalen, Tom (Billie) Whalen and Dottie Huff and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Elsie Loretta Feldman and Thomas Howard Whalen and sibling Jim Whalen.

Bill retired from General Motors in 1997. He was a dedicated member of the Masonic Temple and Antioch Shrine since 1995. He served as President of the Order of Quetzalcoatl, Chief Aide to Potentate James Brewer, Director Colonel Marching Patrol, member of the Rover Club, Unit Director and served as a Building Manager to the Antioch Shrine Temple.

He was a loving and generous man who was a wonderful husband, loving father and adoring grandfather. He loved watching his grandson play baseball.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of Bill's Celebration of Life at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek.
