WELKER, William (Bill) H., age 61 of Dayton, died peacefully July 18, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was supported throughout his illness by loving family and numerous friends. Born July 22, 1948 in Pottsville, PA to Earlamay and William Welker. Preceded in death by his father, step-father Ralph, sister Gail, brother Glenn, father-in-law Howard, nephew Dennis, niece Lori. Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marcia, son Scott, daughter-in-law Dione, daughter Beth, grandchildren Will, Kenzie, and Evan and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by mother Earlamay, sisters Darlene (Joe), Donna (Glenn), Karen (Bob), and Rachelle (Andy), brother Kevin, mother-in-law Billie, sisters-in-law Nancy (Lowell), Debbie (Scott), brothers-in-law Bill (Amy), Mark (Debbie). Bill was a veteran of the Marine Corps and worked 25 years for AT&T. He was a member of Eagles Wayne Avenue and the Milton and Shamrock Clubs. He was an avid Browns fan and loved a good party. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Special thanks to good friend Norm Mayberry for his constant support, and to Dr. Teknos and The James Cancer Center, and all of the dedicated health care providers at Miami Valley, Life Care of Dayton, and Hospice of Dayton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 21 from noon to 2 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, followed by a service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
