William R. Vorhis, age 64, of Kettering, Ohio passed away at Hospice when he went to meet the Lord on February 6. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Oleta Vorhis, of Kettering.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Bonnie) of Kettering; sons: Steven (Tasha) Ellsberry of Jacksonville, FL and Eric of Chicago; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by beloved friend and companion, Terry Rockwell; and loyal dog, Sadie.
He started his career as a police officer in 1976. He worked for several counties and townships (Sugarcreek, Miami, Randolph, and Beavercreek). He was also a driver/guard for Brinks. He loved his Corvette and was a member of Corvette Troy. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Beavercreek.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Services conducted by Pastor Gary Favor. His final resting place will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio.
