William Adrian "Poppy" Truesdell

February 4, 1932 — January 1, 2025

Huber Heights, OH

William Adrian "Poppy" Truesdell, a kind and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Huber Heights, Ohio, at the age of 92. Born on February 4, 1932, in Trinity, Kentucky, his journey through life was marked by hard work, love, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Poppy's dedication was reflected in his various careers. He worked for McCall Printing, Roberds Furniture and Appliances, Sears Appliance, Miami Hardware, and Gem City Hardware, showcasing his strong work ethic and willingness to support those around him. As a devoted husband for 39 years, he cherished his loving wife, Joyce Truesdell, whose companionship brought him immense joy throughout their time together.

His heart swelled with pride for his children: William Nicholas (Tina) Truesdell, Adrian Keith (Faith) Truesdell, Vickie Lynn (Walter) Cooley, Ricky Lyn (Stephanie) Copeland, and Daniel Guy (Alisa) Copeland. Poppy's legacy continues through his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were undoubtedly touched by his kindness and guidance.

Poppy's service in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict exemplified his commitment to the values he held dear. Even after his military service, he carried this spirit of care and duty into every aspect of his life. Whether he was meticulously tending to his lawn or ensuring his car remained spotless, those small acts spoke volumes about his character and the love he put into everything he did.

Though Poppy leaves behind a vast network of family and friends who will dearly miss him, we remember him as a beacon of warmth and affection. He is reunited now with those who have passed before him: his parents, Rosa and William Truesdell; his son, Jeffery Allen Truesdell; his grandson, Jonathan Truesdell; and his sisters, Mabel Jarvis and Faith Harless. In their reunion, we find comfort.
