William Lee Strickland, 89, went to be with Jesus on December 6, 2021. William was born in Burbank, Missouri on December 12, 1931 to the late George and Verna (Rose) Strickland. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon return, he attended and graduated from Calvary Bible College, and then spent his remaining life in ministry. He was known affectionately as "the preacher," since he shared Christ with just about anyone he met.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Iona (Whitman) Strickland; siblings, James, Odessa, Franklin, Robert, and Barbara.
He is survived by his son, Barak (Victoria) Strickland; grandson, Darren (Emily Evans) Strickland; granddaughter, Kayla Strickland; brothers, Roger and Donald; sisters, Mildred (twin), Kathryn, Carolyn, and Sharon; along with many friends from the various churches where he and Iona ministered.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2pm at the Dayton National Cemetery ( 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428).
