William Azel "Smokey/BillBill" Stover, Jr., age 93, of Fairborn, passed away on July 2, 2022, at Preserve at Beavercreek, after a courageous fight with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Eunice, West Virginia, on July 1, 1929, the son of the late William, Sr. and Violet Stover.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Stover; and brothers, Rush Stover and Jess Lee Stover.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie Stover; children, Vicki (Rick) Hertzburg, Nancy Rainosek,, Kerry (Jenny) Stover and Suzanne (Mark) Severson; grandchildren, Carl, Jillian, Scott, Mark, Paige, Garrett and several "fur grandchildren"; great grandchildren, Kennerly, Maisie, Charlotte and Zachary; sisters, Crystal Otto and Sue Hill; brother, Max Stover; step-sons, Michael (Pam) Conover and Shaun Conover; step-grandchildren, Jenna and Tanner; step-great grandchildren, Rylan, Maddie and A. J.; as well as, many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Following his service in the US Army, he began his 37 yr. tenure with General Electric, holding positions in Logistics Management and Contractual Relations with the USAF and USN. Along the way, he sang with Barbershop choruses and church choirs; with golf, reading and crossword puzzles peaking his fancy, as well. Bill was an amazing husband and father. He was a man of great faith and was always "there" for anyone who was in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
