William Parker

PARKER, William Tyson, age 96, of Dayton passed away Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Liberty Community. He was preceded in death by Thelma, his wife of 57 years; and sisters Jeannette Parker and Elizabeth Parker Swartley. He is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Parker; and grandson, Matthew Parker Milby. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving 2 bronze stars. He retired from DESC in 1982. He and Thelma were members at St. Charles parish and active in their bridge clubs. After retiring, they traveled the world, which was one of his greatest pleasures along with playing golf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery. The family request that no flowers be sent. Arrangements in care of Newcomer - South Chapel.
