MICHEL, William Barrett (Barry), age 69, cherished husband of Kathie Comer Michel of 20 years, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2016, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Since childhood Barry was fascinated with planes, rockets, and space, leading into a highly successful career as an aeronautical/aerospace engineer, where he earned the respect and friendship of his peers. His keen engineer's eye for detail was reflected in his personal life. Not one to overlook the importance of even the smallest consideration, he did beautiful workmanship in his home and family cabin on Boundary Waters in MN, creating a sanctuary for his family of joy, trust and respect -caring for the family's welfare with cheer, wisdom & practical help. We will celebrate him and keep his spirit alive every time our paddle hits the water, and on every walk in nature…in which was his refuge. The footprints of Barry's life are imprinted upon the hearts of those he touched and loved; he was a gifted man and a gift to many. He is survived by his children Justin Michel, Lauren (Eric) Walker, stepsons Kyle (Danni) Frederickson, Jeremiah (Tricia) Frederickson; his six precious grandchildren who endearingly called him Papa Bear; and siblings Martha (Don) Dautel, Laura (Mark) Yedinak & Scott Michel. In lieu of flowers family would appreciate any donations be made to the Sugarcreek/Bellbrook Park District. Family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, 45430. To send a special message, please visit www.NewcomerDayton.com.
