William George Hibbs "Bill"

William George "Bill" Hibbs, age 100, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Bethany Village. He was born on May 9, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Ruth Hibbs. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Hibbs; and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Hibbs and George "Jerry" Hibbs.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Katherine Hibbs and Linda Smiley; three grandchildren, Mike Maddux, Laura Kermes, and Jeremiah Kermes; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church alongside his wife, Marilyn, of 76 years. Bill was an Army Veteran and served in World War II. He graduated from DePauw University and owed his own business as a Metallurgist. He later worked for Washington Township Parks Department for twenty years. Bill was an avid sailor and woodworker. He is well loved and will be deeply missed by his family.
