William R. Hewitt (the 6th), of Miamisburg went home to be with Jesus on November 12, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 3, 1946, to the late William Hewitt (the 5th) and Irene Johannsen.
William is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Hewitt; children, William Hewitt the 7th (Jenny Hewitt), Cindy King "the favorite" (Mike King), and Anita Caplinger "his baby"; grandchildren Justin King, Owen Caplinger (grandpa's pal forever), Holden Caplinger, Mali Hewitt, Brandon King, and Kaylee Hewitt. His greatest love in life was being a husband, father, and grandfather.
William lived his life with a strong to desire to serve others. He graduated from Wilmington College in 1968, where he met the love of his life. William worked for several companies as an Industrial Engineer. He was most proud of his time as a part-time firefighter and licensed minister. He served over 20 years as a part time firefighter for the Moraine Fire Department. In the late 80's, he graduated from the United Church of Christ Licensed Ministry program. He served the United Church of Christ as a Licensed Minster for over 30 years, as well as being an active member at Zion Memorial UCC. He was the interim Pastor for several churches and was a leader in the Licensed Ministry program. Sharing the love of Jesus was very important to him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Zion Memorial United Church of Christ (4000 S. Dixie Drive 45439). Funeral Service will be officiated at 11:00 am following the visitation. William will then be laid to rest at Zion Cemetery, also located on the church grounds.
