Bahns, William H., age 84, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007. Bill was a member of the Kettering 7th Day Adventist Church and a United States Army Veteran proudly serving in Europe during WWII with the Medical Detachment of the 808th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He retired from the T. Marzetti Company of Columbus, Ohio and formally worked for Inn Maid Noodle Company of Millersburg, Ohio. He was a kind, generous, and caring man, loved by all.
Bill is survived by his daughter: Brigette Appleby and husband George of MN; granddaughters: Katherine & Caroline Appleby; step-son: George J. Kender II; step grandchildren: Paul Kender & Michelle (Ian) Price; sister: Betty Jones of Dayton; and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 5 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Pastors Hazel Burns & Brenden Prutzman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bellbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
