William E. Gillen Sr.
Age 69, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born July 22, 1937 in Berea, Kentucky to Henry & Thelma Gillen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Gillen in 1994 (age 33).
Bill is survived by his loving wife of the past 15 years, Sara J. (Prater) Gillen; three sons, Bill (& wife, Cherie) Lloyd, Jim (& wife, Diana) Gillen, Curtis (& wife, Renee) Gillen; three step-children, Tom (& wife, Josie) Hall, Joe Hall and Vicky Hall; 13 grandchildren, Bill, Taylor, Sami, Marcus, T.J., Brianna, Alyson, Nicole, Jennifer, John, Josh, Aaron, and Daniel; three great grandchildren; one sister, Patricia & Louie Arnett; and by one brother, Lee Ray Gillen.
Bill retired as a Tool Maker in 1992 from Delphi Chassis with 39 ½ years of service and he was a member of Local 696. He will be remembered as a good husband and father, grandfather and poppie.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Monday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Sharon Amos officiating. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
