EPPERSON, William E., Sr., age 68, of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009. He was born August 4, 1940 in Effingham, IL, the son of Royal F. and Pauline (Nash) Epperson. Bill retired as a MSGT from the United States Air Force in 1979 and from civil service in 1996. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in the South Park Neighborhood where he restored several historical homes. He was also a member of American Legion Post 763, Masonic Lodge #764, and F.O.E. #321. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Grupe) Epperson; children, Angela (Ted) Detty, William (Sveta) Epperson, Jr., and Charles Epperson; grandchildren, Bryan (Kelly), Nicole, Kasie, Sarah, William III; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Bridget, and Bryan "Jacob" Jr., aunt, Marguerite F. Purcell sister, Dixie (Ralph) Beals; brother, Royal (Agnes) Epperson; and a host of other relative and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; one grandson, Jason Detty; and one sister, Cathy Spaulding. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church (500 Hickory St., Dayton, Ohio, 45410) with Pastor John Johannson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church.
