WHITNEY, William D., 82, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007. He was born November 29, 1924 in Beech Creek, KY, the son of the late Irvin L. and Ora Mae (Stanley) Whitney. He retired from DP&L as a PBX Operator and a member of Hillside Chapel of The Christian & Missionary Alliance. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie B. Whitney in June of 2005; two brothers, Bobby Gene and Irwin Whitney; two sisters; one son-in-law, Elwood "Woody" Brown. He is survived by one daughter, K. Rosemarie Brown; three grandsons, L. Michael (Tammy), Dean P. (Beth), and William D. (Phyllis); 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; one half-sister, Marietta; three half-brothers, Jackie, Howard Ray, and Don; cousin, Charles (Gladys) Bassett; one special friend, Mary Virginia Waters; one sister-in-law, Eileen; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel where funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
