Chambers, William R., Sr., "Bill", 81, of Miamisburg, passed away September 2, 2018.
He was born October 4, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William E. and Celia (Johnson) Chambers. Bill was a successful, local stock car racer starting in the 1950s through the late 1980s. He won 2 track championships in 1977 at Kil Kare and Shady Bowl Speedways. Bill was a member of the Dayton Auto Racing Fan Club for many years. He was the former owner and operator of South Acre Towing for 32 years. Bill was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was a gentle and kind person.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Neuburg, nephew, Mike Quillen, brother, Ronald Eugene "Butch"Chambers, brother-in-law, Ray Quillen, and sister, Joy Lee Neuburg.
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lizzie N. Chambers; his children, LaVonna Breshears, Billy Chambers, Jr., Stephen Chambers, Daniel Chambers, Shawn Chambers; step-son, Mike Sherman; grandchildren, Celia George, Kyle Breshears, Joshua Chambers, Jeremy Chambers, Sheldon Chambers, Nicholas Chambers, Nathan Chambers, Taylor Chambers, Katie Chambers, Dalton Chambers, Michelle Tirey, Michael Sherman; great-grandchildren, Laynee, Landyn and Layton Breshears, Parker Vancil; sister, Sherry Quillen, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
