William Joseph Carr, "Joe," age 44 of Dayton, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022. He was born December 15, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He graduated from the Kenwood School of Broadcasting and his favorite job was working as an Intake Specialist at Woodhaven in Dayton. Joe was a skilled repair person and jack of-all trades fixing things. Joe was a loving dad to daughter Eleanor (age 10). He loved showing Eleanor how to build stuff; they built a dining room table together and a play set in the backyard. From a young age, Joe's happiest place was at the beach in Hilton Head, S.C. He would spend his summers there with his family and bringing Eleanor there and showing her how to dig for sand dollars, building sand castles and walking the beach for shells made him so happy.
Joe passed away surrounded by his family and friends after a difficult battle with the illness of addiction. Joe worked hard on his recovery and gave life to others by being an organ donor. Life Connection of Ohio was able to match, place, and recover Joe's heart and his kidneys to help others live.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Carr; mother, Pearlie Carr; siblings, Derrick Carr, Rick Carr, Micah Carr, friend and former partner, Katie Hilvers; as well as numerous loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Carr.
A celebration of life will be held on December 27th (Visitation at 4pm followed by a Service at 5pm) at New Heights Church, 7350 Dixie Highway. Fairfield, OH 45014.
