William C. Lewis, age 64, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
William was born on February, 22, 1958 to the late Robert Lee Sr. & Betty Jean (McArthur) Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Ann Minnifield-Goss.
When he was young, William moved with his family from Haines City, Florida to Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Colonel White Highschool then proudly served in the U.S. Army, during which he was stationed in San Antonio Texas and Germany. After he returned, he became a semi truck driver, a job he held for decades.
William is survived by his wife of 10 years, Miss "Q." Lewis; son, Bryant Lewis; father-in-law, Donald D. Sutton; step-son, Jamal Sutton; siblings, Barbara, JoAnne, Danielle, Yvonne, Robert, Chris, Anthony "Jeep", and Shawn; special nephew, Keon Sutton; dear friends, Donald Dancy, Roger Olinger and Shawn Hansborough; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 3-4pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 4pm.
William will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 2pm (Shelter B) with full military honors.
