William C. Brown

William Carson Brown passed away Thursday July 29th in West Carrollton. Mr. Brown was born in Elizabethton, TN, the son of Willie C. Brown and Peggy Anne Herndon, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Funk Brown, son James Veverka of Williamston, NC, step daughters Marcia Brun of Lebanon, OH and Kimberly Trevor of Bowling Green, KY, grandchildren Tyler and Rachel Brun of Lebanon OH, Morgan and Caden Trevor of Bowling Green, KY and Alexandra and Abigail Veverka of Williamston, NC, sister Jackie Howison of Charlotte, NC, aunt Roberta Shockley of Huntsville, AL and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and sister, Sue Anne Rademaker, of Cape Girardeau, MO.
Mr. Brown retired in 2009 from the 88th Air Base Wing Civil Engineers at Wright Patterson AFB. He was a decorated Viet Nam veteran, serving in the US Army for over 9 years. Mr. Brown also served in the US Peace Corps in Burundi. A long time resident of the Dayton area, Mr. Brown was an avid motorcyclist who participated in numerous events to support local charities and actively supporting USO, military and veterans' organizations, including POW-MIA advocacy.
Mr. Brown will be sorely missed. He was a dear friend to many, visiting and helping others without fanfare. Beyond generosity it was his unconditional love and his sense of life that drew so many to him. Mr. Brown took the time to know and understand anyone he met and left most with fond and funny memories of times together. Carson Brown was truly one of a kind.
Mr. Brown was intered with military honors on Tuesday August 3rd at Saylors Cemetery in Sparta, TN surrounded by those who loved him.
