William A. "Bill" Brooks, age 94 of Xenia, OH went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home. He was born April 13, 1926 in Wilmington, Ohio to Raymond and Etta (Kennedy) Brooks. Bill married Mary Alice Cummings on March 20, 1953 at First Church of Christ in Xenia.
Bill graduated from Massie Rural High School in 1945. He was drafted in 1950 into the U.S. Army, serving in combat during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1952. After the Army he worked at Frigidaire in Dayton and retired from Harrison Radiator/General Motors in 1991. Bill was a 70 year member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #163 and was also a member of Northside Christian Church. He loved to travel, enjoyed baking, was very sociable, attending many local basketball games and spending time with his many friends. Bill's favorite pastime was watching the Ohio State Buckeye football. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Nancy McPherson; grandaughter, Jean (Mitch Wilson) Creech; great grandaughters, Kaylee (Ahmed Almarzooq) Creech and Karree Creech; great great grandson, Noah Almarzooq; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Mary Alice; siblings, Edith Mae, Edna, David, and three infant sisters.
A private visitation with Masonic Services will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel. Graveside services will also be private with Army honors conducted at the cemetery.
