William R. Turner fell asleep in death Saturday morning, Oct. 16, 2021. He was born in Pittsburg, PA, April 29, 1935.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Grace Turner Coles, and three sisters, Grace Marion Harris, Carlotta Coles, and Mary Ellen Taylor. He was also preceded by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Marie(Thomson)Turner.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Stephen (Ramona) Turner, Ron Turner (Zenny Valdez), Raymond Turner, and Julie (Eric) Hammons. He is also survived by a sister, Rose Gilley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and step relatives. Special thanks go to dear friends Charlie and Joyce Clark, and all the kind, loving friends from the Xenia congregations.
Bill was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on Dec. 10, 1972, and attended the South Xenia congregation, where he served as an elder for many years. He was a kind and loving brother, and was known for his quick smile and hearty laugh. He was a zealous Bible teacher, and loved to share the good news with everyone he met.
He was retired from the Air Force and Super Value of Xenia.
The family wants to sincerely thank the VA Hospice of Dayton, for all their kind, outstanding care of Bill in his final days.
His Memorial service will be held virtually on Zoom, Saturday, October 30, at 1 P.M.
