William "Bill" May
August 8, 1926 — August 14, 2013
William "Bill" May, age 87, of West Carrollton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse & Hazel May and sister, Eileen Blackburn.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Virginia May; children, Mary (Mark) Gapinski, Barb (Hank Borkowski) Brandenburg, Sue (Mike) Gapinski, Bill (Sherri) May, Rita (Bob) Payne, Jim May and Diane (Kelly Cook) May; grandchildren, Ben (Adrianna), Sheri (Adam), Allison, Clint, Andy and Clay; great-grandchildren, Christian, Brianna, Alexandria, Dariusz and Ryan; and many other close relatives and friends.
Bill served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #165 and St. Henry's Catholic Parish. Bill was a retired professor from Sinclair Community College. He was an avid fisherman and is now fishing with the Lord.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2-5 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Henry's Catholic Parish (6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449). Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery in Miamisburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the charity of one's choice.
