William "Bill" L. Savage of Jamestown, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021 after a journey of 87 years, 11 months, and 12 days. He was born March 21, 1933 in Peebles, Ohio son of the late Charles W. and Grace M. (Gustin) Savage.
On February 8, 1958 he married Roberta A. Duerr in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away February 17, 2003. To this union was born 3 sons, Daniel Lee, David Edward, and Dale Allen. On August 9, 2003 he married Nancy L. (Cummings) Duerr, widow of Robert W. Duerr.
William loved and served the Lord as a member of Victory Baptist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.
William graduated from Peebles High School, Peebles, Ohio in 1951 and retired from General Motors, Inland Division Vandalia, Ohio after 25 plus years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends hunting and golfing. William is going to be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Roberta A. Savage; son, David Savage; siblings, Bernice, Martha, Olive, Ira, Lavena Joyce, Mary, Jerry, and Rachel.
William is survived by his second wife, Nancy Savage; sons, Daniel (Peggy) Savage and Dale (Jodi) Savage; step-sons, Robert E. Duerr and Scott A. (Cathy) Duerr; grandchildren, Danielle (Danny), Shana (Ross), Jacob (Heather), Wesley, Ian (Charlesta), Christian (Calah), Catherine (David), Rozella, and Benjamin; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Outram, Charles (Carol) Savage II, and John (Jeannie) Savage; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 5-8:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church (1020 Beaver Valley Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45434).
The family will also receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 10-11am at Victory Baptist Church (1020 Beaver Valley Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45434). A Funeral service will begin at 11am at the Church with Pastor William Keen officiating. Graveside services officiated by Rev.Thomas Hite will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, Ohio
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in William's honor to Hospice of Dayton.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks will be worn in all public places.
