William "Bill" Gross

July 27, 1941 — May 11, 2022

William "Bill" Gross began life June 27, 1941 and was the proud son of Goldie Walters.

Young Bill was always on an adventure, always with a side hustle. Bill started by collecting a quarter to repeat curse words, shining shoes, or hitching a train for coal to heat their home. He could run the pool table learning as he swept the pool hall nightly in his teens. Bill was not afraid of hard work as he caddied at several local golf courses which gave him the opportunity to meet some very colorful people.

Throughout his life he had an array of work experiences at several factories, spending 17 years at the Moraine Frigidaire Plant. He was a proud laborer at the local Union 1410. Bill was known for his fashion sense in his younger years, as the years passed he took a liking to bucket hats which tamed his curls and made him stand out among the crowd. He was never a follower and tough as steel. Never minding what others thought and could give two hoots what people thought.

The love of his life was Peggy Jo which they celebrated 46 years together. Bills first child Alisa (Thomas) Daly "bullheaded like him" and then came Dwayne his "mini me" and then the youngest was Kevin who never followed in the footsteps of Bill, known as his Good child. His pride and joy was his grandson Alan Gross. Bill had a special bond with his nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Bill. Bill had many special friends from all walks of life.

He loved his family and had a special bond with his sister Maudie and mother Goldie who proceeded him in death. Bill and his jokes/stories will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
