It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved William "Cookie" Barr (89).
William was a life-long Dayton, Ohio resident and graduate of Dayton Public Schools. After graduation, William enlisted and served honorably in the United States Army. William also loved music; he was a percussionist. He played in several bands in his early days, and more recently he played the tambourine for his church. A true-believer and anointed prayer-warrior, William devoted his life to Christ, as well as his family. William loved because he was loved.
William is preceded in death by his mother, Dovie Dickerson Barr; father, Willie C. Barr; and two children, Marlin A. Barr and Gailmarie Harris. William is survived by his daughters Lisa Njoku-Farr (Ken), Patricia Marshall, and Sheila Cox; brother, Nathaniel Carter of Jackson, Tennessee; special cousin Selena Dunson; grandchildren Dorian A. Harris (Twanisha), Eugene Barr, Frankie C. Barr, Kevin Marshall, and Danielle Hammock; and great-grandchildren; Andres Roblero, Amalia Roblero, Zyniel Juniel, Jeremiah Barr, Taylin Barr, Dorian Harris, Jr., Nia R. Harris, and Imoni Marie Harris.
