William E. (Bill) Baab, 83, of Xenia, OH went to be with the Lord Sunday Morning, January 13, 2013.
He was born on September 29, 1929 to the late Valentine Walter Baab and Beatrice K. Wright.
Upon graduating from Kiser High School in 1947, Bill enlisted in the armed services and fought in the Korean War as a Sergeant in the Regular Army.
He was honorably discharged in 1952 and went to work at WPAFB where he met the love of his life, Glenna Jean Bowling. On October 4th, 1952 they were wed and to this union were born one child, Michael Baab. Bill was Papaw to Lindsey (Dana) Akers and Whitney (Matthew) Dearth. He was Papaw Bill to his four great-grandchildren; Gracie, Riley, Evan and Brody. He was Uncle Bill to his many nieces and nephews.
Bill is survived by wife, Glenna Jean Baab, one son Michael (Rhonda) Baab of Xenia, OH , and by one brother; Valentine Walter (Elizabeth) Baab of Centerville OH.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia C. Szima, step-brothers Jerry L. and Lawrence J. Clingman, and nephews Christopher J. Baab and Ryan Thuma.
Bill retired after a thirty year career as a fire chief in the Fire Prevention Division at WPAFB, followed by a lengthy career as a realtor with Zimmerman Realty Fairborn, OH. Throughout his real estate career he was known as a man of honesty and integrity.
In 1970 Bill accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was a long time member of Fairborn Church of God (Victory Temple) in Fairborn. The influence Bill had on the youth of this church will forever show and be present in the lives of those he so loved to be with. They truly kept him young at heart. Upon moving to Xenia in 2003 Bill became a member of the Liberty Worship Center where he was very active in the Golden Eagle Senior Ministry. He was a very giving person who supported every aspect of ministry.
Bill will be forever loved and missed by many.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, January 15th from 5-8pm and Wednesday, January 16th from 10-11am with service following at 11am at Liberty Worship Center, 1180 Upper Bellbrook Rd. Xenia OH. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
