William A. Seward Jr.

William A. Seward, age 90, passed away at his home in Springboro on Friday, September 28th, 2012.

He was born in Painesville, Ohio on March 5th, 1922 to the late William A. Seward Sr. and Gaye (Van Dusen) Seward.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Marjory M. McClelland Seward on December 31st, 2000 and his only daughter, Judith Gaye Smith on January 6th, 2011.

Bill served in the United States Marines as a pilot during World War II in the Pacific, reaching the rank of Major before his discharge in February of 1946. He graduated from Miami University in June of 1949 and also later became an alumni of Ohio State University. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Al Koran Lodge of Columbus, Ohio and a member of the Blue Lodge Masons of Oxford, Ohio.

He is survived by his second wife and caring companion of 10 years, Joan Gray Seward; a granddaughter, Mrs. Kimberly Nelson and husband Chris and 2 great-grandsons.

At his request, there will not be a funeral service. A graveside service will be held with military honors in Connellsville, PA. at the Green Memorial Park at a later time.
