Boyer, Willard A., age 86, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Slatington, PA, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Willard was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during WWII, and retired with the rank of Major from the United States Army Reserve in 1982. He was a retired foreman with the New Jersey Zinc Company in Palmerton, PA, a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Slatington, PA.
Willard is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years: Jean H. (Hill) Boyer; son and daughter-in-law: Willard A. Jr. (Jean A.) Boyer of Kettering, Ohio; granddaughters: Amanda Davidson & Kelly Moore; great grandsons: Jack & Luke Davidson; sister: Renae Boyer of Palmerton, PA; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry & Martha (Youngkin) Boyer; and his brothers: Earl, Carl, & Harold Boyer.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 40 2nd St., Slatington, PA with Pastors Russell Haab & William Dimmich officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420 or to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Slatington, PA.
