Wilbert O'Neil "Neil" Phillips, age 89 of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2016. He was born November 20, 1926 in Corbin, Kentucky; the son of Aaron G. and Rosa (Lay) Phillips.
Neil is survived by Eileen, his devoted wife of 65 years and his children; Dave and Tracey. He was the proud grandfather of Dave and Kathy's four beloved daughters; Shari (Ryan) Folker, Kelly Phillips, Jamie Phillips and Sara (Justin) DeBorde. Great grandfather of 7; Taylor, Maliyah, Arianna, Logan, Aubrey, Bria and Ava. Neil is also survived by a host of loving family and friends.
He proudly served our country in the US Army and US Air Force. Neil retired from the Dayton Daily News after 26 years of faithful service.
A service to celebrate Neil's life will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering OH 45439. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Neil's family will receive friends from 10:00 am until Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
