Wilbert (Pete) Lee Arnold, Sr. age 86, of Tipp City, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Soin Medical Center. Pete was born August 14, 1934 in Irvine, KY to loving parents Martin (Pete) and Dorothy Arnold.
As the oldest of four, he and his brothers shared a close bond and a deep love for their family farm. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and survived by Marvin and Jerry.
At a young age, Pete developed a love of nature, animals, helping others and a strong work ethic that would endure his lifetime. He also was a proud and loyal fan for the University of Kentucky Wildcats college basketball team.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Angela Mae Arnold (Richardson), who after marrying in 1954 they moved to the Dayton area where they bought a home and grew their family. Together their extended families enjoyed many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins with travel and large family summer gatherings.
Wilbert loved his family most of all and is survived by daughters, Sandra (David) Duncan and Mary Ann Arnold; grandchildren, Christopher and Courtney Duncan and great-granddaughters Ava and Aaliyah Smith. He is preceded in death and will reunite with son, Wilbert (Petie), Jr. in heaven.
Although Pete enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, he built a long career as a beloved leader and printing press expert, notably with McCall Printing Press and later retired from Amos Press.
After retirement Pete had more time for his true passions, which included gardening, restoring antiques, and was always happiest surrounded by his family and his dog, Michael.
Visitation will take place from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where Pete's memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.
