Age 79, of Huber Heights, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007, at Spring Creek Nursing Center.
Wes was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen V. (Haynes), in 1999; one brother, Jerry Hughes; and by one sister, Beatrice Jones.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie & Darrell Bergquist of Tipp City; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer & Mike James and Angela & Robert Chandler; eight great grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Brandon, Leslie, Caitlin, Katie, Rachel and Kelli; and by three sisters, Charlotte "Shaw" Kennison, Dorothy Phillippie & Wanda Bell, and by numerous other extended family members & friends.
During the Korean Conflict Wes served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He retired from General Motors with 32 years of service. Wes was a life-time member of the V. F. W. Post # 4615, AMVETS Post # 99, and the Troy Fish and Game Club.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, with Pastor Dennis Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
