Wendy Lyn Carter

Wendy Lyn Carter peacefully departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, September 25th, after a relentless battle with cancer. Wendy left this earth in the loving arms of her husband and in the presence of her family in their family home in Clayton, Ohio, to be in the arms of Jesus.

Wendy was a graduate of Vandalia Butler Senior High School, in the class of 1989. She was a lifelong servant to her community and always worked her hardest to help people in need. Wendy began her career in social work at Miami Valley Community Action Partnership and ended her career as a Compliance Auditor with the State of Ohio Housing Finance Agency.

Wendy loved the outdoors and nature. She enjoyed hiking, collecting rocks, gardening with her husband, campfires, cooking meals for her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Denver Allen Carter, her children, Kristen Michelle McKinney, Maria Lyn Carter, and Darlene Angel Carter, as well as her grandchildren, Liam Thomas White, and Everleigh Michelle White, her parents James and Marilyn Brashear, her father Orville Wade Watkins, her brothers James Brashear, and Anthony Watkins, and her nephew and niece, Andrew Bender, and Allison Bender, brother-in-law Jesse Silvers, and her grandfather O’Bryan Brashear, as well as many cousins, close friends and loved ones. Wendy is preceded in death by her dearest and only sister Sonya Jean Silvers.

Wendy's Funeral services will begin at 1:30pm held at Newcomer North Chapel at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton Ohio 45424, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Walkthrough visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. Interment will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum at 8135 N Dixie Dr., Dayton Ohio 45414.
