Wendell Hayword Hensley

Wendell Hayword Hensley, age 81 of New Carlisle, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at his home. He was born September 12, 1936 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Calvin and Maude Hensley.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Benjamen McFadden; and sons-in-law, Philip Smyth and Mike Robbins.
Wendell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorsa; daughters, Cecilia Price, Tonya Smyth, Vicki Robbins; son, Wendell (Sumi) Hensley; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wendell touched many young lives during his 20 years of coaching Wee Arrows Football. He also retired from General Motors after 30+ years of employment.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6 - 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424). Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 1:30 pm, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry D. Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.
