Wenceslaus "Windy" J. Kovar, age 85 of Huber Heights, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. He was born September 13, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Adolph and Rose (Pekar) Kovar.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary (Walter) Ross, Ann (Dan) Slivka; brothers, Leonard (Lenore) Kovar, Anthony (Marleen) Kovar; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kovar, Pat Kovar.
Windy is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Shelly; son, Tony Kovar (Jackie Delgado); daughter, Denise (Chuck) Zimmerman; brother, Adolph Kovar, Jr.; grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Franklin, Sarah Kovar, Ashlee (Josh) McNeely, Aaron (Ashley) Zimmerman, Allison Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Eden, Malekai, Hephzibah Franklin and Gavin, Owen, Marlee McNeely; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Windy served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict where he was awarded numerous medals. He also retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 22 years of civil service.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Huber Heights Baptist Temple (7730 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424). A funeral service will begin at 6 pm with military honors.
