Wayne Parish

September 17, 1967 — October 30, 2015

Norman Wayne Parish, born September 17, 1967, lost his courageous battle to lymphoma at age 48 on October 30, 2015. Wayne passed peacefully by his sister's side in her home in Tipp City. Wayne was born in Arkansas where he spent most of his youth, with a few formative years spent in Texas. Wayne graduated from Mansfield High School in Arkansas and secured a comfortable job as a Telecommunications Specialist/Analyst in his late 20s that opened doors for him across the nation and abroad.

As a professional Telecommunications Specialist, combined with Wayne's self-confidence and free spirit, he comfortably landed a nice variety of jobs in Tulsa, Colorado, Arkansas, Ohio and the Philippines. Wayne's truest self emerged in his early twenties when he backpacked by foot across the nation with just his camera and a few personal belongings – he fell in love with Colorado Rockies. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Tulsa where his career took off as a Telecommunications Specialist. While building call centers in the Philippines, 2003 – 2008, Wayne obtained his pilot's license to support his love of photographing neighboring countries. Soon thereafter, Wayne was hired on as a Ranch Hand at RunneyMeade Stables in Oklahoma. There he enjoyed breaking horses, maintaining the ranch and welcoming visitors/guests. However, Wayne's journeys always led him back to The Rockies time and again. In the fall of 2011, Wayne moved to Castle Rock, CO where he was employed with Sprint as a Business Support Technical Lead.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, William Homer Parish, JR and survived by his mother, Loreida Schlinker Parish of Mansfield, AR. Wayne is much loved by his two sisters, Lori Parish of Tipp City, OH and Kristie Parish Griffin of Pensacola, FL. His cousin, Daniel Parish of Broken Arrow, OK has and always will be like Wayne's only brother. Wayne is survived by three nieces, Shanna Sample, Rachel Roe and Olivia Milem, one nephew, Aiden Griffin, and two great-nieces, Alexis Sample and Brianna Roe. Wayne was the perfect uncle because who else would teach his nieces that the real reason for belly-buttons was to save your chewing gum for later. Uncle Wayne will be forever remembered for his creation of the forest where his Lovely Princesses resided that only he could save and protect – The Tale of the Princesses of The Forest spans many chapters and years, from toddler to motherhood. Wayne is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Wayne's family also includes his closest friends from across the globe. All of Wayne's family will forever miss and love Wayne – we will miss most his humor.

Wayne's ashes will be scattered in the spring of 2016 in The Rockies where his family will come together to celebrate the beautiful life that Wayne led.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Lymphoma Society or Hospice are greatly welcomed.
