Wayne T. Callahan, age 72 of Kettering, passed away February 20, 2015. He was born June 13, 1942 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Marion T. and Virginia H. Callahan. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Marlene DeArmon; and brother-in-law & sister-in-law: Jack and Wanda Rutledge.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce E. Callahan; son, Michael T. (Joanne) Callahan; daughter, Wendy Martin; granddaughter, Jaime Martin; brothers-in-law: Neil (Willa Jean) Smalley and Charles DeArmon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Wayne was a graduate of Fairmont High School; retired from The Stanley Corporation; was a member of Alpha Lodge #729 Free and Accepted Masons and The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. Wayne was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially taking trips to the casino with his wife.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 12:30-2:30 pm. A masonic service will also be held during this time. Pastor John Whitaker officiating.
