Warren Lee Mensch
May 2, 1940 — February 15, 2023
Warren Mensch, age 82 of Centerville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was born on May 2, 1940 in Los Angeles, California the son of Phillip Jr and Helen Mensch.
He is preceded in death by both parents; wife, Corday Mensch; and his loving dog, Shag Bo Jackson.
Warren is survived by his beloved, Betty Mazzone; son, Derek Rish; and Betty's three children, Lisa, Tim, and Nick.
He graduated from North Park High School of Chicago where he wrestled and played the drums. Warren loved to read and was a fantastic student. He had a total of not one or two but 3 degrees! Warren had a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the Illinois Institute of Technology and then collected Bachelor's in Pharmacy from the State University of New York. He then capped that off by getting a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins (MGMT Science). Warren was a proud member of MENSA as well. He was a long-time employee of SAIC in Dayton and traveled all over the U.S to troubleshoot complex projects.
Warren had quite a few different interests. Most notably, he was a brown belt in karate and coupled that with a love for ballroom dancing. His long-time love Betty took many lessons with him. They thoroughly enjoyed dancing together at the Kettering VFW and various other Dayton locations. Warren liked his Friday visits to the Mexican Restaurant Elsas in Centerville. His go to menu item was the Bad Juan margarita and buffalo wings. Warren would do anything to help his family and friends. He helped his wife Corday raise both Natalie and Derek. They were not easy kids to parent and mentor, his patience and forgiveness was quite legendary.
I can assure all he will be greatly missed!
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Stoney Ridge Senior Living for their kindness and compassion. They took exceptional care of him in his final months.
The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Joel Getts at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens (1639 E Lytle Five Pts Rd, Centerville, OH 45458). Family will receive guests between 10:00 am and 11:00 am prior to the service.
