Warren H. Howick, age 87, of Miami Township passed away late in the day on Saturday May 10, 2008. Warren was preceded in death, earlier this year by his beloved wife, Kathryn E. Howick. They had been married over 61 years. Warren is survived by his sister, Dora Ann "Dodie" Vorhees, of Huber Heights and his two devoted sons. The oldest son is, Craig A. Howick, his wife Carolyn Howick and their son Christopher Howick of Beavercreek. The youngest son is, Mark E. Howick, his wife Judy Howick of Miami Township, and their daughter, Devon Kay Halsall, her husband Dan Halsall and their son Blake Halsall of Fairborn, Gary Kale, grandson and Sparky Kale and wife Cory and great-grandchildren Courtney, Cody, Casey and Carly, who reside in California.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Leona (Lee) Howich and his brother Norman Howich, Norm's wife Kay, Dodie's husband Don Vorhees and son Dane Vorhees. He also is survived by the following nephews and nieces, Dean Vorhees, Norma Howich, Nancy Howich, Barry Howich, and Tina Howich
Wife, Kathryn, was preceded in death by Mother and Father, Myrtle and Dick Flint and brothers Donald, Charles, William, and Marvin Flint. She is survived by brother James Flint and his wife Virginia, sister Darlene and husband Joe Gibson, and sister-in-law Jeanie Flint and a host of nieces and nephews.
Warren was a distinguished member of "the greatest generation". He represented his country with bravery in combat in World War II. He was a Marine. Returning after the war, he devoted himself to chasing the American Dream, a marriage, a family, a job, and a home. Warren was a retired employee with the NCR Corp for over 30 years.
Warren wished that his remains be cremated and sent to Wilmington to be with Kathryn and the National Cemetery in Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Warren's name. There will be a Celebration of Warren's Life at oldest son, Craig's home on Saturday, May 17, 2008 starting at 1:00.
