Warren G. Toops

Toops, Warren G., age 86, of Huber Heights, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born November 28, 1921 in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of Andrew & Icy (Bennett) Toops. He was an Ordained Minister with the Wesleyan and Nazarene Churches for 56 years, pastoring in Bradford, St. Marys, Weirton, WV, Tipp City, Cedarville, and Dayton, OH. He served God by building churches and parsonages, but he always found time to fish and watch his favorite sports teams. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Reecie Toops; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters. Survivors include his children, Tim (Connie) Toops of Sarasota, FL and Linda (Roger) Lemasters of Gloucester, VA; grandchildren, Scott (Kimberly), Michele (Jeffrey), Merrideth (Robert), & Laura; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Paxson; and his brother, John Toops. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 PM until the time of services. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
