Wanda Sargent

Wanda "Frances" Sargent, age 78 of Washington Township, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Centerville Health & Rehab. She was born March 3, 1945 in Hurricane, West Virginia the daughter of the late Donald and Anna Scarberry.

Frances loved her family above all else; but she also had a love for diet Pepsi and chocolate until the end.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Sargent; son, Joseph Sargent; great grandson, Owen Hines and siblings, Bobby Lee Scarberry, Dale Scarberry, Ron Scarberry, Delores Madison, Larry Scarberry and Barbara "Kay" Staight.

Frances is survived by her children, Ebonie (Charles) Vickers and Bobby (Elizabeth) Sargent; grandchildren, Chrissy (Scott) Hines, Kayla Sargent, Shannon (Charlie Vickers) Johnson, Kara (Mark Rakes) Sargent, Joseph Sargent, Brittany (Mitchell) VanBuren, Hanna Sargent, Jacob Kelsey and Olivia Sargent; great grandchildren, Jase Hines, Jacob Hines, Hayden Sargent, Katie Hines, Noah Fletcher, Colbi Vickers, Langston Sauer, Caleb Vickers, Rieleigh Hines and Leia VanBuren; siblings, Lonnie (Cheryl) Scarberry and Linda (Tee) Isbell; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary Madison, Larry Staight and Sibylla Scarberry; special niece, Mikki Staight; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend the appreciation for the love and care that the staff at Centerville Health and Rehab has provided over the years as well as Compassus Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Frances' honor.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A graveside service will be held on Friday March 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Culloden Community Cemetery in Culloden, West Virginia.
