Wanda R. Rodgers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, age 88, of Kettering passed away on January 25, 2018.
She was born September 1, 1929 in Central City, Kentucky to the late Otto and Edith (Vanover) Sumner. Wanda married the love of her life, Graydon F. Rodgers on September 22, 1955. Wanda retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Co. after many years of devoted service. After her retirement Wanda and Graydon enjoyed several years living in Somerset, KY on Lake Cumberland. Upon the births of their grandchildren, they returned to Dayton to be full-time grandparents. During this time she also worked at JC Penney, Dayton Mall, in the Lingerie Dept.
Wanda enjoyed playing Bingo and cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Wanda was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Graydon; 2 children, Jerry Scott; Lisa Rodgers Mix and husband, Jack;
6 grandchildren, Patricia Scott Smith, Shawn Scott, Zachary Mix, Nathanial Mix, Jacob Mix, Caleb Mix; 4 great-grandchildren, Riley, Emily, Issabel, and Senna, niece and nephew, Elaine and Mark, great-niece and great-nephew, Sarah and Brian.
Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur "Harvey" Sumner.
