Wanda "Ruth" Roach, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Lover of grandchildren, lucky gambler, and dedicated co-conspirator of many shenanigans and lover of all things fun. Ruth was born January 23, 1936, in Whitley, Kentucky, to the late Oscar and Hattie (Jones) Hickey and spent her youth in Whitley County, Kentucky, prior to arriving in Dayton, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Bob Hickey; and two sisters, Hazel Cox and Bea Floyd; as well as her son, Terry Beams, and his daughter, DeAdra Beams.
Ruth was a supportive wife and doting grandmother. Mamaw Ruth relished any opportunity to love and spoil her grandchildren and to participate in their activities. Each were blessed to have such a strong relationship with their grandparents. Ruth was a long time resident of Fairborn and left many friends with entertaining stories of her escapades with friends and many relatives.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 54 years, Buddy C. Roach; her devoted sons, Micheal Beams and B. Randall (Julie) Roach; five grandchildren, Melissa (Jarrod) Villareal, Brian (Natalie) Beams, Cassie (Kyle) Beams, Kelsey Roach and Caitlyn Roach; and six great-grandchildren. "Aunt Ruth" is also survived by many nieces and nephews and family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, on Saturday, May 6th. Visitation will occur at 11:00 a.m., with a funeral services to commence at 12:00 noon.
