Wanda Mayme Newman, 88, of Riverside, OH, passed away peacefully September 30, 2017 at Heartland of Beavercreek. Wanda was born in Benton County, Indiana on March 16, 1929 to Jesse and Pearl (Spence) Newman. She married James Frank Newman on November 14, 1946 in Belfast, OH.
Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Northridge Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the church.
Wanda is survived by her children, Betty (Roger-deceased) Couch, Jim (Jean) Newman, Patricia (Darrell-deceased) Pitts; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends, especially her dear friend Louise Schaffer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; a son, Martin; several brothers and sisters; and her dear friend, Julia Lundy.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff of Heartland of Beavercreek and Heartland Hospice for their loving care and support. They would also like to thank Kristy and her staff at the Wound Center for their love and care. To the residents of Heartland of Beavercreek, the family would like to thank you for your unending kindness and support that you shared with Wanda.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on October 5, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory - North Chapel 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am with Chaplain Victor Brady officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Park Cemetery.
