Wanda Lynn DeLong, age 76 of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Kettering Health Main Campus. She was born March 9, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Luther Howard and Lois Adkins. Wanda Graduated from Xenia High School Class of 67. She had a career lasting over 20 years working for Greene Memorial Hospital as a Pharmacy Assistant/Buyer.Wanda was an extremely fun loving person. She was always looking for something new and exciting to do. Wanda's family have countless fun memories of family outings to several places like the Ohio Caverns, the Lebanon Train, and the Cincinnati Zoo to name only a few. Wanda would often collect a rock from a family outing and keep it in her yard. She had the incredible ability to make an outing a big event and she took the greatest joy in planning events and parties for her family; not only holiday parties but Cookouts, Elvis Parties, Dog weddings, and backyard Ponies. One event of particular interest was a memorial service for Eugene the Mummy. Wanda also had several fascinating interests such as ghost hunting. She was an avid camper and would set up at any campground she could find within an hours drive. Wanda went to clown school and she loved doing charity work for the kids as Daisy the Clown. She was a Girl Scout leader in her early years. She loved to travel and spend time at the Beach. Wanda enjoyed music especially, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, and Elvis. She was a bright light and will be deeply missed.

Wanda is survived by her Husband of 32 years, Joseph C. DeLong; Daughters, Kimberly Houtz, Tiffany (Michael) Stanfill, and Jennifer (Matt) Vaughn; Son, Laurence "Rocky" S. Shaw, III; Grandchildren, Arianne, Matt, Joe, Chase, Ben, Journey Lynn, Harlan, Owen, Emmie, Savannah, Conner, Maddy, Sam, Brody, Laney, Kysmin, and Mason; Great-Grandchildren, Madalyn, Lincoln, Wyatt, Daxton, Emerie, Mylie, and Marceline; Brother, Roger (late Betty) Howard; Sister, Debbie (Randy) Potter; and by numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Daughter, Christine L. Allman; Sister, Penny Fields; Brother, Larry "Ray" Howard; Great-Grandson, Nash Stewart; and her Parents.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459).
