Wanda F. Bond, a beacon of strength and unwavering faith, departed this world on November 10, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on October 16, 1937, in the quaint town of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Wanda's journey was shaped by her generous spirit, nurturing heart, and profound love for her family and community.
Wanda's life was a testament to resilience and devotion. For nearly 65 beautiful years, she cherished a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Robert Bond. Together, they built a home steeped in love and warmth, raising a family that would forever carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Wanda is survived by her devoted children, Randi Lewis (Michael) and Greg Bond, who often spoke of her selflessness and ability to always put others before herself. The joy she found in her granddaughters, Bayli Bond and Jaedynn Bond and her step-grandson, Michael Lewis Jr., was palpable; their laughter and dreams were treasures held close to her heart.
An ardent member of Redemption Christian Tabernacle Church, Wanda's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She embodied the essence of kindness, with a spirit that remained strong and steadfast in her beliefs, guiding her through life's challenges and triumphs. Her unwavering commitment to her faith inspired those around her and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Wanda's interests breathed life into her surroundings. She found solace in the embrace of nature, tending to her garden with love and care, coaxing flowers and plants into a vibrant display of beauty that mirrored her nurturing spirit. She had an affinity for animals, embracing their companionship as a part of her warm-hearted nature. Whether it was nurturing her garden or caring for the creatures that graced her life, she did so with a commitment that spoke to her gentle soul.
As we remember Wanda, we honor her profound ability to think of others before herself, a trait that marked her proudest accomplishments. She touched the lives of many, including her dearest friend, Betty, along with a vast network of nieces, nephews, and countless family and friends who were blessed to know her. Her parents, Dorothy Hill and Arlen Helton, predeceased her, but their influence undoubtedly carried through her life, shaping the remarkable woman she became.
