Walton Farr, age 90, born June 16, 1925 in Rhinelander, WI to Frederick & Margaret Farr. Passed away on June 25, 2015.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann (Breidenbach); son, Craig Walton Farr (Joanne), of Dayton; daughters, Deborah Ann Hilgeman (Thomas), of Port Neches, TX and Felicia Lyn Farr, of Dayton; grandson, Thomas Walton Hilgeman, of Port Neches, TX; granddaughter, Carrie Ann Jones (Brian), of Port Neches, TX; 2 great-grandsons, Brandon and Caleb Jones; also survived by loving nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He graduated in 1943 from Hamilton High. He was drafted the next day into the U.S. Army, 173rd Engineer Combat Battalion. As a T-Sgt he was in charge of providing potable water and ice to troops in combat on Leyte in the Philippine Islands, Okinawa in the Ryukus and Korea. Upon discharge he attended Miami University in Oxford one year, transferred to Purdue University, graduated BSCE in 1950. Retired in 1979 as Water Director for the city of Dayton. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred, Jack and Jim and his sister, Betty Knox. All four boys fought in WWII.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
