Walter H. Wilson, age 84 of Dayton, passed away November 26, 2015. He was born May 2, 1931 in Bonnie Blue, VA to the late Charles and Ruby Wilson. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Wilson; brother, Charles Wilson; and sister, Sue Wilson.
Walter is survived by his children: Jane (Mel) Knight, Etheridge (Vicki) Wilson and Walter (Gigi) Wilson, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sister, Joy Fleenor; and sister-in-law, Rena Toole.
Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He retired from the Dayton Police Department in 1983; was a volunteer firefighter for Jefferson Twp.; and was a member of John Durst Lodge # 716 F.&A.M.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where services will begin at 10:30 am. Burial and military honors will be held at 12:00 noon at Dayton National Cemetery.
