Walter H. Stewart, age 93 of Dayton, passed away November 30, 2023. He was born June 12, 1930 in Clearfield, PA to the late W. Howard and Mary (Rhinehart) Stewart. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his siblings, Sandra (Stewart) Franke, William H. Stewart, Mary (Stewart) Hird and Syliva (Stewart) Kinzler.
He is survived by his three daughters, Judi (Stewart) Perdue (John), Barbara (Stewart) Quigley (William J.) and Karen (Stewart) McDaniel; Sean Brown (Angel); grandchildren, Justin Doles, Cory Davis, Tyler Miller and Kimberly Laxson; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jasper, Juliet, Emmett, Harvey, Nolan and Evelyn; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and a friend of Bill W.
Walter proudly served during the Korean War from 1950-1954 in the United States Air Force. He served as manager of the 1954 USAFE Softball Champions.
He was very passionate about his hometown Clearfield, PA and donated many items to The Clearfield County Historical Society. He maintained close relationships with his friends and family there. He had been involved with many organizations including Clearfield Free and Accepted Masons, Rotary, Lions, Club Jaycee's, and the American Legion. He also had been active in volunteering at Miamisburg Christian Church.
Family will receive guests from 5:00 - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Miamisburg Christian Church where a Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 pm. A private burial with military honors will be held at Dayton National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 17th.
