Walter J. Klimaski "Walt", age 70, of Kettering, passed peacefully on April 22, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Dayton on February 6, 1952, to the late Walter and Lelia Klimaski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Silvia (Ricciuto); children Joe (Jackie), Jill and Michelle; along with his beloved Goldendoodle Bailey; sister Ruthanne (William) Loder; brother Gregory (Jackie); the Ricciuto and DiSalvo families. In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie.
Walt dedicated his life to Catholic school education, serving as a Catholic school administrator for 43 years throughout the state of Ohio. Those schools included Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron, Alter High School in Kettering, St. Albert the Great School in Kettering, Immaculate Conception School in Dayton, Norwalk Catholic Schools in Norwalk, and Lima Central Catholic High School in Lima.
Walt was a parishioner at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Kettering.
Walt was an avid puzzler, dedicated Ohio State and Notre Dame football fan, Boston Red Sox fan, and enjoyed travel and morning prayer with his wife, Silvia.
Walt's life was led by a quote by Gale Sayers, "I am Third." Walt's faith was his foundation, followed by his devotion to his family, friends and his students, and lastly, himself.
A funeral service and mass for Walt at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church 3033 Far Hills Ave. Kettering will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022. Visitation with the family will be held at church one hour prior to mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Walt's memory to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church or St. Vincent De Paul Center in Dayton.
