On February 18, 2025, Walter P. Jones sadly passed away just shy of his 92nd birthday. Born February 21, 1933 in Lafollette, Tennessee, he is preceded in death by his Critt Jones and Eva (Inman) Jones, brothers Millard, Johnny, Jimmy and three sisters Mabel Messer, June Chadwell, and Dorothy Hasty.
He is survived by former wife Peggy (Kelly) Jones, daughters, Judy (Walt) Reed, Debra Casey, and two grandchildren Ryan Casey and Lindsey (John) McIntire, along with his great granddaughter Megan McIntire. He is also survived by numerous loved nieces and nephews.
He was a retired and proud member of the local 75 Roofers Union.
Besides his family, his greatest joy was watching Tennessee Volunteers football and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. He was especially proud to be an Honorable Kentucky Colonel.
He was a great storyteller and enjoyed card playing with his friends at Valley Street and the various poker rooms around town. He loved his many friends especially childhood friend, Haywood Riley.

Per his wishes, a private burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum.
